Crime fighter is delighted by bicycle gift from Parish Council Submitted by 09 Feb 2008

Police community support officer (Pcso) Adam Palmer now has the use of a bicycle after Leicester Forest East Parish Council donated one to Blaby police station, for use on their neighbourhood beat.

Pcso Palmer said: "Not only will I be able to get around more easily, but I'll also be able to stop and chat to people along the way and discuss any concerns they may have.''

The council has also provided a high-visibility jacket and helmet to go with the bike.

Council chairman Bob Scott said: "We appreciate the role Pcso Palmer has in the community and have provided the cycle to make it easier for him to patrol his beat."
