Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting (in LFE) Submitted by Brian 12 Apr 08

There was a disturbance at around 10pm on Saturday 12th April on the main Hinckley Road when residents witnessed about 20 or more youths (including girls) running up and down the street.

Some of the youths were seen to be carrying what appeared to be spades, and others were shouting and using abusive language.

Several residents watched as some of the youths tried to intervene, in an effort to prevent rival factions from clashing around the area between the M1 motorway bridge and the Booze Buster off-license.

Police arrived within a very few minutes (seemingly from both directions) in three or four patrol cars, and stopped to question a number of youths who were still in the vicinity. At this stage it is not known if any arrests were made.
