Local Planning Issues

New Plans for Travellers Transit Site - Ratby Lane Submitted by: Gerry on Jan 31, 2007

Leicester city councilor John Mugglestone, cabinet member for the environment apparently intends to apply to the government for funds towards a revised scheme at Ratby Lane.

The revised scheme would this time, have the entry and exit points coming directly onto the roundabout which at present gives access to Kirby Muxloe, Ratby Glenfield and the M1 as well as the A46. Presumably, the councilor is trying to avoid the objections previously raised over the dangerous access on the original plan next to Mrs. Hulett`s farm because this is being treated as a new planning application, it means that despite over 3500 objections being put forward initially, they now count for nothing some of the local businesses are already aware of the situation but I am sure that Leicester city council can expect as many (if not more) objections to any proposed plans that they put forward for this particular area.
