Samworth Brothers - Latest Update Submitted

Good news from Samworths
The Capital Expenditure has now been approved by the Directors
and the proposed new extraction system should be up and running
by June 1st
As you may be aware a group of Residents have been meeting
regularly with Samworth Management in an effort to find a
solution to the odours being emitted from the factory during
their cooking operations.
Residents and Samworth Managers travelled to D.C. Norris
& Co, Cambridge where trials were carried out. The proposed
system utilised fume extraction direct from the kettel used
for cooking, and then cooling the fumes via a heat exchanger.
The odours were then held within the condesate and disposed
of via the factory foul drainage system.
Any odours lost from the kettle during sampling of the product
being cooked were extracted via the main factory extraction
system, and dealt via an Ionisation process.
During the trials an independant body took samples throughout
and these were then later analysed, the results showed a significant
improvement when using the proposed new filtration system.
These results showed a reduction in odour levels of around
75% and it is hoped that the system when fully installed will
be as efficient if not more so.
This is a six figure project and we are grateful for Samworths
concern and cooperation regarding this issue.
